This week saw 135,095 countryside fans heading to Harrogate for the 161st Great Yorkshire Show. It is a lovely day out where you can see hundreds of animals, eat some tasty food and do some shopping. The highlight for me was the showjumping followed closely by the sheep!

We covered 13.37km on foot (according to the step tracker on my Apple Watch) and we left feeling both content and exhausted. I only wish we had arrived earlier giving us time to fit in more animals!

This agricultural event covers three days with various shows taking place from Tues – Thurs. If you buy a ticket online in advance you save money and do not have to specify which day you are going to visit until you arrive, giving you flexibility to decide closer to the time.

The Great Yorkshire Show is a brilliant day out and I would recommend it to anybody interested in animals, shopping, food or drinks!

Dates for 2020 are Tuesday 14th – Thursday 16th July. For more info check out the GYS website:
